An Edible Moisturiser, Snow Pear Fruit Tea. Stay strong.

Fall season is my favourite season.  It is not hot nor cold.  The temperature is just right, about 20 to 23 degrees Celsius.

One thing that bothers me is the humidity.   The air is dry. I can feel the dryness in my throat, my skin and my hair.

The only part of my body that likes dryness is my hair.  On dry Fall days, my hair looks straight and manageable.  However,  my throat and my skin do not like dryness, I always have dry sore throat and I feel thirsty.

During the Fall, eating and drinking right is very important.  What you drink determine how you feel and how your skin feels.

One tea that I like to prepare is the Snow Pears fruit tea.  It is an edible moisturiser.  It increases siliva in the mouth.  It moistens the breathing system of the throat and the lungs.  It simply let my skin glows.

Other from pears, vegetable or fruits in the same category of white colour also moistens the body.

How to prepare The Fruit Tea?

Ingredients:

1. Snow Pears (Notes 1) 4 pieces, wash, remove all seeds, keep the peel. Cut each pear into 8 small pieces.

2. Dried figs (Notes 2) pre-soak 6 pieces, each piece cut into 2 pieces.

3. Southern dates (Notes 3) pre-soak 6 pieces, remove seed.

4. Longan (Notes 4) pre-soak 1 tablespoon.

5. Snow fungus (Notes 5) pre-soak 1 piece, cut into 10 to 12 small pieces.

6. Nam Heng (Notes 6) pre-soak 2 tablespoons.

7. Ginger (Notes 7) 1 piece

8. Filtered water 1 litre.

Cooking Recipe is simple:

1) Put all ingredients into cold filtered water.

2) Turn high heat until boiling. Then turn medium low heat and covered for 30 minutes.

3) Turn off heat. Cover for a minimum of 3 hours before serving.

Remarks:

Before you go for your early morning shift, you pre-soak other ingredients except the snow pears, and ginger.  After coming home from work, immerse the snow pears in water and baking soda solution to neutralise any pesticides.  Rinse the pears a few times, then follow the cooking recipe.

When the boiling is done.  Do not uncover the pot at once.  Keep the tea covered for at least 3 hours.

Drink a cup before you go to bed.  Reheat in low heat until simmering, then turn off the heat.  Keep the pot covered.   Let the fruit tea stays in the slow cook simmering condition.  The nutrients of the ingredients slowly diffused into the fruit tea.

Do not put the hot fruit tea into the refrigerator.  When morning comes, just reheat again until the fruit tea is simmering.  Then pour into a thermal bottle and carry  the fruit tea to work for drinking in the day.
