A free range chicken is a flying bird

Chicken are around as human food for many years. There were archeological facts that the jungle chicken existed 8000 years ago. They lived in the jungles of southern part of China, and the north eastern part of India. Some scientists studied the DNA on the chicken feet and the fossils of the feet of the dinosaurs. It was found that there was a correlation to both of them.  

The jungle chicken fly as they wish to escape from the wolves, or to take a nap on the tree-tops. These wild chicken are fed on the sprouts of leaves, wild flowers, young plant stalks, wild seeds, grass, worms in the jungle. As they roam under the sun, their wings are strong with muscle from the Vitamin D provided by the sun.  

It is believed that the domestic chicken are tamed from the jungle red fowl chicken. Trading between countries transports the jungle chicken abroad. These wild birds are carried from China going north to Korea, and from Korea to Japan. The other wild birds are carried from the western part of India to the Middle East of Arabia,  Babylon and further beyond. 

Chicken being the food of the rich and the authority has been cooked as a warm nourishing soup.  Some of the mineral nutrients in the chicken are water soluble.  These nutrients are the electrolytes essential to human health.  The chicken soup has a warming effect which is best for healing a person to recover from sickness.  Free range chicken soup does a better job in the healing process.   Aside from making into soup, the chicken are made into all kinds of dishes like steam, stew, double-boiled, deep fried, and with curry. It is a wholesome dish to be cooked with or without other herbs ingredients.

It was only after the Great Depression of the States in 1930 that there were factory farms for chicken in U.S. The farmers were funded by the government to build chicken farms and implemented new methods to raise chicken. From then onwards, chicken were farmed in crowded pens of a controlled lighting and temperature environment.

Poor living conditions of the chicken led to the invention of antibiotics to keep chicken from infected by virus and diseases. To improve the income of the farmers, it led to the invention of hormones to feed the chicken to make it fat and heavy in a short period of time.

“You are what you eat”. The healthier of the chicken, the healthier are the people who eat the chicken. Obesity and all kinds of heart diseases change people’s choices of food. Free range farming of chicken or the chicken which are allowed to roam freely in the pastures or jungle or island are encouraged. It takes about 6 months or 180 days to raise a healthy 3.5 pounds chicken. These freely roamed chicken are raised in organic farms, they are allowed to lay eggs or poo wherever they want. With the goodness of the Vitamin D from the sun, free range chickens are less vulnerable to be infected with diseases.  

Southern part of China is the hometown of the jungle chicken. There are several free range chicken farms in Guangdong, China. Of these, a rising “star” organic farm from Zhanjiang, Guangdong 「廣東湛江」works out their free range principle of “Let the chicken fly, let the chicken run”. 

 A feature of a cooked free range chicken is seen in the chicken bones which appear to look red in between the bone marrow.  On the vice versa, the factory farm raised chicken bones when cooked appear to look brown in between the bone marrow.   The free range chicken that catch the seafood as food when cooked tastes like the seafood even in their bones.
